About Project

Improving Competencies of Trainers on CE Marking project was financed by Turkish National Agency within the context of Leonardo Mobility projects of the European Union. Leonardo Mobility Projects aim improving the competencies of vocational training students and vocational trainers by providing opportunity to go to European countries for organized activities. With this aim, CRM Consulting had sent its four trainer consultants to Planet S.r.l. firm for the training.

The main targets of the project is improving CE marking competencies of CRM Consulting trainers, experiencing European models for CE Marking and addressing the defficiencies in the system by sharing the experiences with trainer institution and developing new strategies. Training was implemented between 30 October and 13 November. During that period, in addition to improving their vocational competencies, CRM Consulting consultants were able to learn Italian culture and introduce Turkish culture.

Project Partners

Improving Competencies of Trainers on CE Marking project application to the National Agency was made by CRM Consulting which gives consultancy services to the private and public institutons on 20 different topics. CE marking is one of its training and consultancy services.( www.crmconsulting.net ) Within the context of Leonardo Mobility project, Project and Canbay, Management Consultant Kamile Canbay, Project and System Consultant Levent Canbay, System Consultant Zafe Yalgin and Project Consultant Sevgi Dönmez went to Italy.

Planet S.r.l. is also an expert training and consultancy institution.
CE Marking Training to the CRM Consulting Trainers was given by Marco Evangelisti vermistir. Marco Evangelisti, is deeply experienced on quality systems And CE Marking and has given many consultancy services on these issues all over Europe. In this way, he observed different CE marking methods in European countries.

What is CE Marking?

CE Mark shows that one product or product components is compatible with the product directives with the EU, which were designed as basic necessity for health, security, environment and consumers protection. CE mark is the abbreviation of 'Conformite European' words and it stands for the conformity for European Norms. (European Conformity)

What is the importance of CE Mark?

The products which do not carry CE mark cannot enter into European Union Countries' markets. Therefore, CE mark can be thought as a industrial product passport which enables products' enterance into European markets and free movement. While making CE Marking, it has to be correctly defined that which products are belong to which directive or directives.

CE Marking in Italy and Turkey

Improving Competencies of Trainers on CE Marking Leonardo Mobility project has enabled CRM Consulting Trainer Consultants learn CE marking methods in Italy and other European Countries and make comparion with the methods implemented in Turkey. According to these findings; it has been defined that

1. For implementation of CE directives there was such a long nine years period between 1983-1992in Italy, however the duration has been shorter in Turkey and for this reason effective implementations have not been applied yet,

2. In Italy and Europe, CE marking trainings and consultancy has been given within the context of ISO 9001 in conformity with standard clauses of ‘acting according to the law and ‘meeting customer needs and demands' ve third party inspection and certification institutions controls CE documents/files and implementations during ISO inspection,

3. In Italy demands for CE marking training and consultancy mainly comes from medium sized companies, because generally small companies do not care about CE marking and big companies have its own experts,

4. Companies generally make their own tests for CE marking and test laboratories have been increasing,

4. There are similar controlling mechanisms in Turkey and Italy; if deficiencies are seen in health and security or if there is customer complaints, responsibility for CE marking comes into existence and products are taken out of the market. Although it is realized that companies generally obey the rules, more serious works are needed.

5. In Italy, CE markig trainings have been included in the universities relevant departmants curriculums.

New Strategies

Within the context of Improving Competencies of Trainers on CE Marking Leonardo Mobility project and taking into consideration findings mentioned above, CRM Consulting and Planet S.r.l. developed new strategies for improving CE Marking methods in Europe and especially in Turkey. These strategies are:

Strategy 1 : Trade and professional associations and state institutions should develop programs defining how CE marking implementations should be with training and consultancy institutions for transition to CE marking in addition to establishing laws and regulations

Strategy 2 : CE marking training and consultancy services should be put into ISO 9001:2000 content

Strategy 3 : CE marking trainings should also be put into universities relevant departments' curriculums.
